Advanced Obedience & Rally Classes

Our Advanced Obedience and Rally classes are designed to refine your dog’s skills, improve focus and precision, and strengthen the partnership between you and your dog.

Intermediate/Advanced Obedience — 6 weeks

Prerequisite: Completion of an approved Beginning Obedience or Intermediate class

This class continues to refine foundational obedience skills and introduces additional exercises needed for Obedience and Rally competition. Dogs will learn to move into heel position from front, stand for examination, and maintain sit and down stays with distractions.

Handlers will focus on improving attention, maintaining correct heel position, and achieving straight fronts on recalls. Even if you do not plan to compete, this class builds reliability, strengthens good behavior, and deepens the bond between dog and handler.

Advanced obedience class training

Rally 1 (Beginning) — 6 weeks

Prerequisite: Completion of an approved Beginning Obedience class

Requirements: Dogs should know heel position, sit, down, come, and have a solid stay.

This class is designed to teach handlers how to communicate effectively with their dogs using body language along with verbal commands while performing AKC Rally exercises.

Rally is an obedience venue where handlers and their dogs move through a course of signs, performing each exercise as directed. It is an exciting and structured way to prepare for AKC Rally Novice and Beginner Obedience titles, or simply to enjoy training with your dog.

This class focuses on Rally Novice signs. All exercises are performed on leash, with emphasis on teamwork, attention, and smooth transitions between exercises.

Rally 2 (Advanced) — 6 weeks

Prerequisite: Completion of Rally 1 and instructor approval

This class continues to develop Rally skills and focuses on Rally Excellent and Masters level exercises. Teams work on refining accuracy, consistency, and teamwork.

Handlers and dogs begin working off leash and are introduced to jump exercises including the broad jump, bar jump, and high jump.

This class prepares teams for advanced competition or continued progression while strengthening communication and performance skills.
